Happy Monday everyone! We have had a crazy last few days, and I am actually looking forward to the routine of the week starting up again. III and I have been a little under the weather, so while we wanted to take Chickadee out for frozen yogurt to celebrate her 9 month birthday, we decided it would be best to celebrate at home. And this is great for you folks, because now I have a delicious and possibly messy sweet ice cream treat to share with you.
Now, as you know with all celebrations you have to gather your supplies! So, while I was running into WalMart to grab some “get well” goodies, I also picked up ice cream glasses, bananas, raspberries, and a canister of Wet-Nap hand wipes from the napkin isle.
Did you read that? TWO INGREDIENT raspberry ice cream. So obviously one ingredient are the raspberries, the other…bananas. So not only is it ice cream, it’s healthy ice cream! Chickadee has eaten both of these fruits, so I knew she would love the taste as long as she didn’t mind the cold! The simple recipe is below:
- 2 bananas
- 8 raspberries
- Peel the bananas and break into 2 inch pieces. Place in a freezer safe ziplock and freeze.
- Puree the bananas until they become creamy (may take 4-5 minutes) and then add in the raspberries and puree for another minute.
- You can serve it as soft serve immediately, or refreeze if you would like it more frozen.

She was a little hesitant at first, but you can see once she tasted the goodness, she DOVE right in! Since it was her 9 month birthday and all she thought it only fitting that she feed herself. To say she made a mess would be an understatement. However, life is sometimes more enjoyed when you are messy, so we let her have at it! The onsie might be ruined, but every stain was worth it.
She even tired to clean herself up with a Wet-Nap, but I had to step in and help a girl out. They are perfect for faces and hands, softer and stronger than they have ever been & they contain aloe to moisturize.
Chickadee isn’t a big fan of cleaning up usually but she didn’t seem to mind to much this time!
We love celebrating her. It is so hard to believe she is 3/4 of a year old and in 13 short weeks we will be celebrating with both cake AND ice cream :o) I’m sure we’ll have Wet-Nap wipes on had then too! I’ll be writing her 9 month update later this week, stay tuned.
If you want to pick some Wet-Nap wipes up for your next celebration make sure and take this .55 cent coupon (while supplies last)!
