DIY {Photo}Book Covers
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was embarking on a makeover of our guest bedroom/craft room. It’s not the biggest of spaces, but we are making it work for us. There is a daybed in the room which is great for guests & space…it only takes up the square footage of a twin but has a trundle so can sleep two! The large desk that was opposite the bed I’ve moved into the closet and while it freed up a lot of usable space in the room we also lost a lot of the storage space from in the closet. So MANY items had to find new homes.
Some of those items were photo albums full of great memories from college. I loaded them up on one of the bookshelves in my new piece from IKEA, but….all the different spine colors & textures…it just wasn’t working for me. I needed to classy the shelf up!
So I grabbed a couple pieces of scrapbook paper that coordinated with the room and got to work. I wasn’t looking for a permanent fix, so besides the paper I only needed tape. I cut the paper wide enough and tall enough to wrap just around the spine. Then I taped them down.
It took probably 12 minutes to cover all 6 photo albums. What a huge difference it made!
By no means was this little DIY necessary but boy doesn’t it look nice!
Perfect, was thinking how to transform my books so they look shabby white, now got an idea, thanks for sharing

I love the color coordination. I need to do this to about 500 of my books!

That is so stinking smart! LOVE how unified and pretty your books look now. And heaven knows I have enough scrapbook paper to sink a battleship, so I’ve got to get to this soon!
