Chickadee is 9 Months
Dear Squirt (Chickadee),
Squirt has stuck as a nickname lately. Not really sure where it came from but it’s here to stay…for now. Happy 9 months Squirt! 3/4 of a year :o) We love you more and more each and every day, and I didn’t even know that was possible! You have our hearts.
We just had your 9 month checkup. You weighed in at 18lbs 2oz and were 28 inches long. Thankfully, no shots were given but you did have to be brave when they drew your blood for your anemia test. You passed! You are down to two naps a day, usually around 9:15 and 1:30. At night you are sleeping 11-12 hours, and recently have started rolling over to your stomach, we are flipping you over for now but I think we are just going to have to let you figure out sleeping on your tummy soon.
Your 9th month could be characterized as BUSY and on the move. It has been a joy to watch you progress from lunging forward to rocking to rolling on the floor and then pushing up to a sitting position. You are soooooo close to crawling, I’m positive it is going to happen any day.
We love interacting with you and getting you to mimic our actions. Lately, you’ve been blowing air between your lips, waving hello, and clapping when you get excited. I love watching your soak in the world & enjoy every moment.
Every day when dad comes home y’all love to play peekaboo. He hides on the other side of the door and pops out while you giggle and giggle. He is so good at getting you to laugh…and you love him so. His daily sacrifice for our family is such an earthly example of how our Savior loves us unconditionally.
We went back to the beach for the 4th of July with Pop’s side of the family. It took you a few days to get used to being in a new place but once you adjusted you slept and napped like a champ. This time around you LOVED the ocean! We did a lot of sitting where the waves crash and having our bathing suits fill up with sand. You splashed and tried your best to eat lots of shells. Bebe bought us a slushie one day while we were sitting under the umbrella and you loved it. You spent lots of time with your cousins since we were all in the same house. They loved doting on you and playing with your toys!
You have continued to add to your menu items. We pretty much will give you anything these days (besides honey of course). A few new foods you’ve tried are chicken, pasta, black beans, lima beans, eggs, and french fries! You love them all :o) We are so thankful you are such a great eater, just like your dad.
We hit the lottery with you baby girl. You are such a happy little lady. We have our tough moments but each and every one of them are worth it for the thousands of smiles, excited squeals, and snuggly moments.
Love you!
