Creative Ideas for Handmade Cards

DIY greeting card ideas

I’ve been trying to send more cards lately. Every year I add this hope to my “new year goals,” and every year I feel like I fall short. But I keep on trying! I’ve been making a lot of my cards lately and thought I would share a few homemade greeting card ideas with you. They really are quite simple while at the same time from the heart with a personal touch. All you need is cardstock and then a mix of washi tape, patterned paper, stamps, and baker’s twine (DIY baker’s twine tutorial).

This past weekend, I created several cards including thank you notes, birthday cards, and a few congratulation notes and packaged them together with envelopes for the hostesses of my baby shower.

I’ve also made a few seasonal cards at home…check these out (click on the image to be taken to a tutorial):

It’s amazing all you can do with washi tape. You can dress up a sticky note, add pizzazz to a simple banner, create a card display, dress up a holiday treat, and of course create, from the heart, homemade cards!

. . . . .

We actually headed to Mobile this past weekend for a baby shower with III’s family. His mom and sister were so sweet to throw us a “Cute as a Button” shower, and I must say I was quite impressed with their craftiness!! My sister took the pictures, so I hope to share them soon. I was so grateful to spend time with family & celebrate the arrival of baby girl in about 2 months.

While we were in L.A. (lower Alabama) we stayed a few extra nights in Fairhope at the Marriott’s Grand Hotel. It was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. We went on walks, took naps, sat by the pool, ate really well, and enjoyed time as just the two of us. It was the perfect babymoon!
