Ladybug Banner and a 1st Birthday
This weekend we traveled west to celebrate our FAVORITE (and only) niece’s 1st birthday! It seemed like yesterday we were in the hospital room meeting this precious one for the first time. Children as such a precious gift from God and we have been blessed by this little one for an entire year now.
We had a great time spending the day with family. The party had a ladybug theme, and sweet KA had the cutest red tutu on when the party began (I wish I would have gotten a picture). I made a discovery this weekend….I think it is something I’ve always known, but came to realize more. 1st birthday parties are more for the family than the one turning one. They have no idea what is going on….I’m in no way saying they shouldn’t be celebrated….I’m just saying this so someone will remind me when we have a little one who is turning and I’m trying to pull off every idea I’ve seen on Pinterest!
I am so blessed to be a part of this family & be able to celebrate with them.
I didn’t do a whole lot to help out with this celebration, but I did use a little of my DIY abilities to create a ladybug banner.
Oh how I love my Silhouette Cameo! It made this project a piece of birthday cake. I used a few shapes from the Silhouette library including the leaf and the pennant banner. The font is called Alan Font and I downloaded it from dafont.com The polka dot paper came from my favorite place on Earth….Hobby Lobby!
We had a wonderful time & can’t wait to celebrate her brother’s 3rd birthday in a few weeks! It’s a busy month as aunt and uncle for us.
Hi Laura Beth! Love your blog :) would you happen to have a tutorial for this banner somewhere? If not could you provide measurements for the pennant banner, leaves, and letters? Thx :)
Hey there!! I don’t have a posted tutorial. I actually used my silhouette to cut each piece. The measurements for the pennants were about 6 x 4 inches, the leaves (not counting the stem) were about 4.5/4 inches long, and the letters were about 5 inches high. I hope that helps! I bought the little lady bugs already painted at Hobby Lobby!
Thanks so much! I have a Cricut Mini – and not many cartridges yet, so I will have to get creative :) I really appreciate you providing the measurements – thanks again!
