Ornaments 2012
Can you believe Christmas is only a mere 4 days away. I am only having a small panic attack. Currently I have Amazon boxes and Target bags under my tree instead of brown paper packages tied up with string as I had hoped. But school is out and I’m in Operation 25th mode, so things will come together soon!
Around blogland I’ve seen SO many beautiful themed trees. From cottage chic to bright greens & blues these trees are magnificent! And one day when I have more space I might venture down the theme tree road…but for now I have decided I’m an classic ornament girl as I have so many memories wrapped up in each one of them. I couldn’t imagine a tree that didn’t showcase the memories…Today I wanted to share a few.
This is our African Santa, made from dried banana leaves. We picked him up at a market while we were in Uganda this summer spending time with the amazing children there.
III and I met at Auburn our sophomore year. There are so many orange and blue ornaments on our tree to show our devotion. They even went up this year…War Eagle anyway
III’s mom gave us this ornament the Christmas after III proposed. You can see the Christmas tree in the background…he popped the question on a random Tuesday night.
One of my very best friends is currently living all over the world with her military husband. While they were in Italy I visited for a week & picked up this hand painted ornament in Venice.
Oh, Max…how we love you!
These hand painted ball ornaments are my favorite. We purchased this one at the cutest shop in Fairhope, Alabama while there for Thanksgiving.
The trolley car was the perfect ornament to capture our memories from a San Francisco trip last November.
This is a great ornament to do with the kids. I made this ornament with my class last year…my snowman family.
While on our way to and from Africa we had extended layovers in London (during the Olympics no less). We manged a lot of stops while there!
We became a part of the Sozo family when we traveled with them to Uganda. This year they sent us a true keepsake. How I love those faces.
So do you do a themed tree or stick to old/new favorites? I’d love to see your tree, leave a link in the comments!
