Hey y’all! I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day celebrating the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave with your friends and family! I am so thrilled to be guest blogging for Laura Beth today, it’s a true honor. I’m Emily, and Laura Beth and I met during our first year at Auburn, she is such an inspiration and a wonderful friend!
(From LB: Emily is the one who encouraged me to start a blog :o)!)
Like I mentioned, LB is a fantastic friend, and when she heard we were moving she offered to help me paint! I’m not sure she knew what she was getting herself into… I had big plans to get this former little boy’s bedroom turned into a guest room by the time my sister visited the following week:
Now, this room is precious for a first grade boy, but there aren’t any first grade boys in my household, so the blue wainscotting had to go! I wanted a nice, neutral space for our visitors to be able to relax and feel at home.
With LB’s assistance, this room was painted in no time! My handy hubby moved the furniture in, the linens were added, and it was guest worthy by the weekend!
The wall paint color is one of my favorites, Resoration Hardware’s Stone, and the wainscotting was painted to match the existing trim.
And… YES, we kept the ceiling fan. I even bought new shades and swapped the darker ones for these frosted white ones. We live in the South and ceiling fans are a must, even if they’re not designer-approved! Who’s with me?!
We added a few little touches for the bedside table to make it feel welcoming and our new guest room was complete!
Thanks for reading, and be sure to check in with me over at my blog
from time to time as we continue to turn our new house into a home!
P.S. Think I could persuade Laura Beth to help me remove some wallpaper next?! ;)
