One Month from Today

One month from today we are leaving.

One month from today we will be embarking on what may be the most life changing experience we’ve had in our 28/27 years.

One month from today we’ll see God’s hand at work in a way we’ve never “seen” before.

One month from today we’ll be anxiously awaiting the smiles of children we’ve come to love on, but I have a feeling they will show us what love really is.

One month from today we’ll enter a country where the average household income is a little more than $200 a year and the life expectancy is your mid fifties.

One month from today we’ll join Sozo Children on their mission to “to glorify God by interceding on Christ’s behalf to save children in need, build communities, and connect individuals to all experience the love of Jesus Christ.”

One month from today we’ll have had a yellow fever shot (check), hepititis A & B vaccines (check), a polio booster (check), typhoid immunizations, and be taking malaria prevention pills.

One month from today I’ll be praying God opens my heart bigger and my arms wider than he ever has before.

One month from today I’ll be sleeping under a mosquito net, covered in dirt, sleep deprived, but loving every minute (hopefully).

One month from today I’ll be doing a small part to take care of the orphans, although, as Katie Davis says, it may feel like emptying the ocean with an eye dropper.

One month from today I’ll be asking God to use me.

One month from today (and today) I ask for your prayers, for God’s light & love to radiate from us, and that we will love as He loves us.
One month from today, we will be leaving for Uganda
& I can’t wait!
