Washi Tape Cards
A few weeks ago I was just wandering the aisles at Target. Anyone with me in this? I think I could roam that store once a week for hours upon end. While in the office supply section I stumbled upon WASHI TAPE. Well, they didn’t call it that, but that is what my fancy blogging friends say it si, so I’m rolling with it.
I brought it home & added it to my craft stash (which really needs to be organized)! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to use it for until I found this card on Pinterest.
The link led me to this facebook page.
I knew I had found a winner! You see…I have a love/hate relationship with card buying.
The love is displayed in the 15 minutes process it takes me to find the perfect card. Whether I am sending laughter, wishes, or thoughts someone’s way, I want it to be the perfect card for their moment. I love the feeling when I find it.
But then there is the hate part. I hate the price tag that some of these cards come with these days. There I’ll be grinning from ear to ear & thanking the Hallmark geniuses when all of a sudden I flip the card over and read $4.29. Really??? Almost $5 for a piece of cardstock.
Now, I know this isn’t a novel idea, but with this pinspiration & a little washi tape, I’ve decided to make my own cards.
Supplies: Cardstock, Stamps, Ink, Washi Tape
It’s pretty self explanatory…

Here is my version of my Pinspiration. I used a little of my DIY Baker’s Twine for the bow!
Complete and utter randomness…
{ and yes there are supposed to be to LLs :o) }
At this moment, I wished I bought more colors…I always love a reason to go back to Target.
I added some fun patterned paper to the mix for these last two!

Happy Monday!

What a great idea! I love the birthday candle one!
So clever + cute! I'm stopping by from the blog hop and just wanted to say 'hi'! I love the blog, by the way and I'm following. I always want to make everyone cards, but it' so hard to just get yourself to sit down and do it! Still, I'll definitely be giving this a try (I particularly love the candlestick one). Mia :)
That is such a great idea. I saw another idea using it to seal envelopes, too. So versatile! Stopping by from Ginersnap Crafts :).
This is a fantastic use for washi tape. I got some from Mindy Mae's market and haven't used it yet. I love card making and these are so cute. Thank you for the inspiration! :)
love it! and now I'm pinning you! :)
I have the same tape & I love it! I also went back and bought all the colors after buying my first! I love the card ideas. Thanks for sharing! One of my post last week was about cards. I love how easy they are, but can bring a smile to anyone's face! Thanks for sharing!
Love these!! I have some washi tape I bought from Target so I love seeing new ideas on how to use it!!! This would be a fun craft to do with our girls ministry.
Hi LB: I'm Connie at http://hotflashncraftn.blogspot.com/, a new GFC friend. I would love it if you stop by and be mine, too. I have to get some of that tape, I see so many different projects done with it. Very nice card. Thanks for sharing.
Love the cards, card making is great you get really personal cards and have fun too but oh dear, you will not save money by card making. There are too many fabulous supplies out there that you will spend far more money on supplies than you ever spent in Hallmark!!
Very cute and so easy! Thanks for sharing!
WHAT?! They have washi tape at Target? I'm so excited! Love your cards!
Totally cute. So simple…love it. It's a great way to make one of kind cards that don't take forever to make. I Would love if you linked these up to my “Show Off Monday” link party.

These are adorable, Laura Beth! My favourite is the Washi tape candle but all three designs give me lots of ideas! Handmade cards are so fun to make once you get into the groove and Washi tape is one of my new go-to supplies for embellishing :)
These are so sweet! I had the same thought at the Hallmark store the other day. As I roamed thinking “wow, most of these are so sappy I want to vomit” and then finally found the perfect Mother's day cards I was dumbfounded at the almost $9 I spent for the 2! I would love to learn to make cards this cute! Such a great use of pinterest!
