Homemade Journal
Keeping a journal is a wonderful way to capture those small & big moments in life. In high school & college I was the queen of journaling..and have books upon books of writing to prove it. I think my favorite entries are the ones where I totally had a crush on III before he knew it!
This summer I hope to get back into the habit.
For Mother’s Day I had the idea of crafting a journal for my mom. She is traveling to the Philippines this summer for about two weeks with the rest of my family. (The hubs & I will be in Uganda at the same time!) I wanted her to be able to reflect on this time leading up to their adventure, as well as capture memories & how God is working while she is there! I couldn’t find one that I just loved, so I decided to spruce up an inexpensive journal from Wal-Mart.
Here is a simple photo tutorial for personalizing your own journal.
Then attach with a little spray adhesive (and I used some Modge Podge too for around the edges).
I LOVE these little dollar stamps from Target’s $1 Section…I used them along with a few paper scraps to embellish the front & back. Washi tape would look great too!
Easy Peasy…lemon squeezy :o) I think I’ll make one for my own trip!
Sharing with several LOVELY ladies!

love this- I think it's awesome that your mom has a place to store all her memories from the trip! Priceless!
Nice job on the Journal – it's lovely!
I love it and am ready to get all the wonderful thoughts i have had about our anticipated time there down on paper. Thanks so much! Love you…….Mama
This is such a cute idea! It looks great!
What a great idea to wrap an ordinary journal in kraft paper! I want to make a journal to record my daughter growing up and might just steal this idea!
