Monogrammed Baby Quilt
Then these two quilts were featured at the
I didn’t use the quilt squares, like Melissa so here is the break down of the fabric I bought:
I followed her tutorial regarding the cutting of the border pattern. 14 pieces each 5 x 10.
Next I sewed four 5″ x 10″ pieces together for the long edge of the border.
Repeat for the opposite side, and press your seams.
Then sew three 5″ x 10″ pieces together for the short edge.
Repeat for the opposite side and press your seams.
I went in a different direction regarding the fabric for the center section of my quilt. This fabric was already quilted and provided an awesome diamond pattern and the quilted look without actually having to do much “quilting.” I cut the center almost square at 28 3/4″ x 28 1/2″.
Attach the 3 pieced borders first to the sides measuring 28 1/2″, next add on the 4 pieced borders.
For the monogram I used my Silhouette and their new fabric interfacing to cut out ADELYN.
And I ironed the letters to the bottom right of the white block.
Finally, I sandwiched the quilt with batting and a backing piece measuring 30″ x 30″.
I tied the quilt together in the corners between the middle and the border by hand. Then binded.

I love this project and want to make one. However I'm a little confused on how you tied the quilt. What did you tie it with? Could you send me some pictures? Thanks, and again, I love this project!

Ack– you make this sound so easy! I've been sewing for about a year now, but I haven't been brave enough to try a quilt. Wish me luck when I do!
Thanks for joining up with the Winter Pinterest Challenge twice! (I haven't made it through all the WPC submissions, so if you submitted several I'll be extra jealous of your craftiness.)
Great idea to monogram a baby quilt. Your choice of matching colors makes the quilt SEW special for some little girl.
Gorgeous!! Baby Adelyn is a very lucky girl :)
This is darling!
So cute! I keep meaning to use my Cricut to cut out fabric but now I'll have to after seeing this look.
This is beautiful!! I have never made a quilt before, but this is making me want to try one! I am hoping to have another baby in the near future and this would be a perfect project!
