Laundry – Loads of Fun

Good afternoon yall!!
Between a leadership meeting at church, disc golf, and the Saints vs. Lions game tonight I managed to pull III away long enough to peel & stick tile to our laundry room floor :o)

Here is a reminder of what I was working with…
never painted walls with water spots, a hot water heater, a gargantuan furnace thingy, and a 40 year old floor.
It’s amazing what a little paint and elbow grease can do!

How about a side by side for effect?

So they aren’t huge differences, but it just feels different being in there!!

I have to THANK Dutch Boy for the paint. It’s a basic neutral, called Head for the Hills. It went on so smoothly and covered in two simple coats. I only used about 3/4 of a gallon for the entire room!!
I can’t wait to use the rest of the paint on my next project.

Here are a few highlights…I promise to go into detail on a few of the projects next week :o)

I’m in LOVE with stenciling…the stencils themselves were from Cutting Edge Stencils. It made the process SO much easier than hand painting a design. Look for the how to next week, and the fabulous folks from Cutting Edge are even going to give a $50.00 credit to ONE. OF. YOU!!
Check back on Monday for details of how to enter :o)

Using my handy Silhouette, I cut my own stencil for this little laundry sign.

I hid the recycling in this $8 swinging lid trash recycling can from Wally World.

And no you aren’t seeing double, it’s the same one in a light tan for Max’s food…
he especially loved this new addition.

I scored a narrow rolling cart at ROSS for $13.99 which sat much better with the budget than the one I had my eye on at Bed, Bath, & Beyond for $39.99. It holds ALL of our cleaning products, freeing up shelf space for other essentials!!

While I wanted to get rid of the shelving all together, I need it for the storage. So back the shelves went, with one minor adjustment. I moved the shortest shelf to the bottom and the others up.
Why? Well EVERY time I unloaded the dryer I hit my head on the corner of that LONG shelf that stood between me and good posture. Good riddance.

I also unboxed all of these fun kitchen gadgets so they would get a little more use :o)
A quesadilla maker. Si!
Ice Cream mixer…Want to come over?
And a popcorn popper. Yes please, bring on the RedBox.

And of course I had to carve out a small spot for my stock pile, as tiny as it might be.
I need to get back to couponing.

I don’t have much to say about this basket except that I felt compelled to buy it at ROSS for only $9.99.

I’m going to do a little more ironing, now that I have this beautifully recovered ironing board
mounted in my fabulous new laundry room. III won’t be headed off to work wrinkled ever again.

And last but not least…look at that new floor? Just a little peel and stick action! I am in love with this “tile.” I can’t wait to use it again (hopefully not in the same area of course!). Look for a tutorial & tips soon :o)

Thanks to the fabulous folks at Dutch Boy, Cutting Edge Stencils, and a $25 LOWE’S gift card for Christmas, this room was revamped for a grand total of $72.49. The budget loves that!

I think I’ll go do some laundry now. It’ll be LOADS of FUN!
