Hi everyone.  I am Anne from over at
I am so excited to be guest posting here at
A Step in the Journey
I love looking around at all of Laura Beth’s great ideas.  She has given me some great inspiration.
Since Valentines Day is fast approaching I thought I would share a recipe with you today that will endear you to the hearts of all those you give some to.  It will also make you famous for having the best treat at any parties you may be attending.

I came across this recipe at Christmas time, but have tweaked it a bit to be just right for Valentines Day.  It does have a lot of ingredients, and takes a little time to prepare because of the different layers, but trust me it is all worth it!
First layer
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/4 butterscotch chips
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
Put the ingredients into a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave for 40 seconds.  Stir.  Microwave at for 30 seconds and stir.  Repeat this step until all is melted and mixed well.  Line a 13×9 pan with foil and spray with non-stick spray (this will make it easy to lift the fudge out in one piece)  Spread chocolate mixture in a thin even layer.  Refrigerate until set.
Second Layer
4 TBL butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups chopped salted peanuts
In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat.  Mix in sugar and evaporated milk.  Heat until boiling, let cook 5 minutes stirring constantly.  Remove from heat and quickly stir in marshmallow creme, peanut butter, and vanilla.  Stir in peanuts.  Pour over the set chocolate layer and spread into an even layer.  Refrigerate until set
Third Layer
14 ounce bag Kraft caramels
1/4 cup heavy cream
Unwrap caramels and put into a heavy sauce pan, add heavy cream.  Over low heat melt caramels while stirring.  When completely melted and smooth quickly spread over the second layer.
Fourth Layer
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/4 cup butterscotch chips
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
Put the ingredients into a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave for 40
seconds.  Stir.  Microwave at for 30 seconds and stir.  Repeat this step
until all is melted and mixed well.   Spread chocolate mixture in a thin even layer over the third layer.
Refrigerate until set.
You will need additional melting chocolate to cover the individual pieces
Now when it is set gently lift out of the pan and pull away the foil.
With a small heart shaped cookie cutter cut out heart shaped fudge pieces

Sometimes it gets a little difficult.  I simply put a glass on top to help push it through
You can always use the left over pieces to reward yourself for all your hard work!
After you release them from the cookies cut they will look delicious.  You could leave them that way, or take an extra step and dip them in melting chocolate.  I LOVE to use ghirardelli melting chocolate.
Quickly dip each piece and then lay on waxed paper to harden.

Now you have a lovely and delicious Valentine goodie to share with everyone!  And trust me, they will love you for it!
OH.MY.GOODNESS!! These look amazing…I am sure they are well worth the work &
I KNOW others will appreciate your effort!! Thanks Anne for stopping in today :o)
