Dollar Tree Christmas Plate
“The best way to spread CHRISTMAS cheer
is singing LOUD for all to hear.”
The quote above come from one of my FAVORITE Christmas movies.
ELF
I must admit if I were singing loud for all to hear, people would probably ask for earmuffs instead of thanking me for spreading Christmas cheer. But luckily for me, my imaginary friends in the car
(and my husband) don’t mind :o) so I sing on!
And would you believe like some kind of divine intervention, ELF was on TV as I made this
Christmas plate.
Christmas plate.
I love that movie…and have a hard time believing it came out 8 years ago.
But back to why you are probably here!

1
Tape off your design.
2
Spray the plate lightly. let dry. repeat.
3
Remove the tape.

I used my Silhouette to cut out the letters, but you could use sticker letters as well.
5
Move it around until you find the perfect spot. And of course be singing LOUD for all to hear.
Enjoy.

I love doing crafty things such as this. These holiday Christmas plates are amazing! Thank you for the wonderful write up. Remember doing crafty things mean so much more to you then things that are bought premade.

Just curious if there was a way to seal this so that it could be used to actually eat off? I would be interested in making this a gift project
Hey Anna,
I wish I knew a way to seal it for eating, unfortunately I had made it to be more of a decorative plate so I’m not sure. Let me know if you find out!
If you decorate the plate with Sharpies instead of painting, you can set the color by placing in a 350º oven for 30 minutes. Works great.

Guess I am showing my age, ignorance, whatever here, but what is “Silhouette”? The plate is gorgeous!
It’s a digital cutting machine that hooks up to your computer and can cut out different shapes, fonts, etc. :o)
Thank you for explaining it to me.
I can't tell you how much I love this plate! Absolutely adorable! I have to share my experience with this project though. Check out my blog post about it for a good laugh:
