Perfect Peach Cobbler

Happy Tuesday everyone!!
In honor of my summer coming to a close, I want to share with your one of my
favorite summer recipes!
Peach Cobbler…
For some reason, I’ve always assumed cobbler of any kind would be hard to make.
There is the fruity filling, the sweet syrupy goodness, the golden crust, the inside bready-ness. How do you get all of these consistencies in one dish?
Well come to find out…it’s not that difficult.
BUT before you scroll down…remember this is NOT part of a diet plan, so pretend you are preparing it for a summer grill out you are having with friends, but then gobble most of it down yourself because it’s
THAT good.
Especially with a little homemade vanilla ice cream
(and by homemade I mean at Blue Bell’s home).
Here is the recipe.
Peach Cobbler
1 stick butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup milk
4 peaches (fresh is best)
Whisk together sugar, flour and milk. Stir in the melted butter and pour into a greased dish. Sprinkle the peaches on top & let them sink in. Top with extra sugar if you wish. And you should wish. Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes. {or 75 min. if you accidently turn your oven off in the middle…whoops!}
and don’t forget the ice cream!
ENJOY!
Made this dessert 1st time and used Georgia peaches and it was so good!
Beth, what was the type of peach you used? Was it O’Henry, Red Globe? I know that it was a year ago just wondering. The kind of peach to me makes a difference in your dish.
I honestly am not sure. It’s been a few years since I made that particular recipe. Sorry!
Delicious, old-fashioned taste. The brown sugar makes it so yummy and the crust has the perfect texture.
Did you pEel the peaches? Thanks
Yes, but you can do it either way!
I just have to say that this is the first time I have seen posted online the same cobbler recipe my grandma always used. I really prefer this thick, fluffy crust to the pie crust most recipes use, and it’s so easy! Thank you for posting!
It is so delicious! Your grandma knows what she is doing :o)
Just made your Peach Cobbler for tea, never had it before, you don’t get it here in the UK. Very nice, will be making it again! Love finding new foods to enjoy, thanks for the simple recipe! X
What size pan did you use?
I’m not positive, but I think it’s an 8in corning ware dish.
I found that if you don’t have self-rising flour, do this: 1 1/2 tsp. baking pwdr + 1/2 tsp salt and add regular flour to make 1 cup. I also sprinkled a bit of Penzey’s Vietnamese cinnamon on top…just a bit. I can hardly wait!
What is self rising flour? Is it the same as all purpose?
It is different than all purpose, but you can find it in the same section of the grocery store!
nice idea. thanks for sharing...

Oh my word! DROOL. That looks so delicious and sounds pretty easy. I've always been a little intimated by the cooking-intense peach cobbler recipe my grandma uses. I think I found dessert for date night tonight! Thanks!
If you'd like to share this at my link party this weekend, I'd love to have you. Found you via Shabby Nest.
