Exhausted…& a new series
Frankly, I am exhausted…even had a sore throat this past weekend.
What does this say about me? Since when does a teacher work 60+ hour weeks…
I take a break for 8 weeks this summer, and when I head back to the classroom, I’m
plum tuckered out.

This year we moved into a new building. It is BEAUTIFUL!! Fresh paint, flooring, desks, supplies, markers, crayons…the beginning of the year is always so exciting, but this one has a
cherry on top!

And because teaching brings me such joy, I thought I would pass a little along to you.

A break from the craziness to share from the smile file, provided by my fabulous 8 year olds each week!
Things like…
- I taught a little girl last year, J, and we worked HARD. I admit we both had our ups & downs, some moments of frustration, but I fought for her to reach her FULL potential. She moved at the end of the year :(. However, on Friday I received this letter:
This makes my heart smile.
A few more from the Smile File.
- My new group is REALLY great, 14 little geniuses waiting to soak up more knowledge. For example, A. seeks the answer to this question: “Mrs. G. why are your arms covered in spots?” Me: “You mean freckles?” “Yeah.” Well, I’m not sure, why aren’t you covered in spots?” “Because I’m not a grown up yet. Maybe I have to grow into them.”
- Then there is L. She makes comments beyond her years: **Summer goes by so quickly…always has & always will. **Some things are just better left a mystery Mrs. G. **I need to make my mistakes now so when I grow up the credit card bills won’t come at the end of the month.
- All teachers love compliments...I’ve been told this week that I have GREAT taste in movies, bake cookies to the perfect amount of gooeyness, look great in a toga (introducing Greece), make learning fun, and aren’t a good teacher, but an incredible one! Not too bad for the first 2 weeks.
Just a few of the many things I love about being a teacher.
Changing the world, one 8 year old at a time!

Cute stories. You are truly a blessing to those kids and their parents. As a mom of an 8 year old (and a 10 year old) I know the challenges that one kid can bring…I can't imagine having 14! Thank you for all that you do.
I know it is hard being a teacher and it takes a special person to be one. I am a nervous person and would have a breakdown but it is people like you who make it and so I thank you for all you do. I am a new follwer thru GFC, Twitter and RSS Feed. I would love a follow back on all three when you get a chance. I would follow on FB but had a disaster last Friday. I was going along and liking and following and then FB popped up and said I was spamming and blocked me out of my own FB for 15 days! (5 more to go) but they would not answer my emails so I don't know why. I followed the blog hop rules and when you sign up for them you are giving people the permission to stop by. Anyway, I am keeping a list of those I need to catch up with who do follow now or you can wait until another blog hop and I will follow then on FB so you can follow back. Either way is okay and I understand if you wish to wait. I am afraid now to leave comments on FB so when I do follow I will leave the comment on blogger's blog that I follow so that does not happen again. Thanks for your help and have a great weekend!

Those are great stories! It's nice to hear there are teachers out there that love their jobs! :) It's a hard profession with lots of responsibility!
