When it Rains it Pours

Not said in a life is not going well kind of way
(I am a teacher on summer vacation after all…)
but in a weather related kind of way.
III is headed out of town for a long weekend with the guys, so we went to a send off  breakfast this morning at the “Eat Mor Chikin” restaurant .
He asked what I’d be blogging about today, and to be honest I wasn’t sure.
(What if this was me telling III bye in the rain…haha)
I have a few projects to share, but I’m going to hold out a little bit.
Maybe today should be a
“Thoughtful Thursday”
I started thinking about the rain. It’s been doing that here a lot the past week or so. And not the “get a little bit wet as you run to the car” kind of rain, but the trees down, powers out, stay inside kind.
I guess you could say more like a storm.
When it sprinkles I don’t notice as much, because it doesn’t interfere with my plans…but. man, when it storms & the lights flicker & the dog wails…(like it has been doing down south lately) it’s hard not to pay attention & it can really throw off my routine.
So here is my thought for the day…a rain metaphor you could say :)
Sometimes God tries to get our attention, remind us of our need for Him with small raindrops, sprinkles,
but we don’t pay attention because we are too wrapped up in the routine of the everyday.
So God sends a storm to get our attention. It is in these moments after all that we lean on Him, recognize & remember our need for Him, and rely fully on His grace.
The good news, it is His grace that also offers us a rainbow {maybe even a double rainbow).
