Sunday Savings
Ahh, Sunday morning. I love this day. Sunday means worship, friends, and rest. There is however one more reason I wake in eager anticipation, the Sunday paper (actually I wake to Max whining to go out, but that doesn’t quite set the mood). I spent the morning (still solo with III out of town) dining on waffles & strawberries as I began to clip. We don’t need a lot of groceries this week, this trip is more about some goodies, so savings was key, as it would loosen the guilty pull of splurging a little in the grocery department.
Today I managed to get $63.37 worth of groceries….seen below
for $24.12. That’s a savings of about 62%.
There were a few items that weren’t a good deal, i.e. the milk (always better at Kroger, but wasn’t up for traveling in the rain) & the chicken (which was not on sale). Now, I had on my list to purchase the pork loin, as it was only $1.99 lb. However, Publix thought I was preparing for a family reunion vs. a dinner for two. This great deal only came in packages of 13ish pounds. A little more than what the G kitchen ordered. Needless to say, it was crossed off the list. Chicken to the rescue.
A few of the best deals included:
Lays Kettle Chips Sale 2 for $5.00
$5.00 – $1.50 – $1.00 = $1.25 each!
Red Barron Pizza on sale for $2.99

Quaker Chewy Bars sale 50% off, i.e. 2 for $3.00
