Another month and you continue to give us such an immense amount of joy day in and day out. Your smile is infectious. Your squeals contagious. Your eyes inquisitive. Your ability to make us smile dependable.
You have grown up so much this month and your personality is really blossoming. You want so badly to be crawling but you just aren’t there quite yet. You are still going backwards & are great at doing 360s on your belly and your bottom. You are also standing really well as long as you have something to hold on to. The babbling is out of control and we so badly wish we knew what you are trying to tell us. Keep it up and the words will form soon enough baby girl.
Speaking of your mouth :o) you have been making this clicking noise with your tongue on the roof of your mouth. If we start it you will also mimic in response. You make “raspberries” too in which slobber goes everywhere. You find it quite amusing (as do we!). You are mimicking other things we do as well like waving, smiling, patting things with your hands, and dancing.
Your second top tooth came through May 25th and since then three more have followed (all the week of June 9th). You took each tooth in stride and (knock on wood) they haven’t given you too much reason to fuss. You are up to EIGHT teeth. Four on top and four on bottom.
We are fortunate you continue to be a great eater. I was making a list of everything you’ve tried lately and it is quite an extensive menu (bananas, oatmeal, apples, avocado, peaches, pears, strawberries, mango, carrots, plums/prunes, green beans, sweet potatoes, squash, baby pancakes, blueberries, raspberries, english peas, grilled cheese sandwiches, watermelon, mum mums, and puffs). We are kind of doing a mix of puree’s and whole foods. A few things you eat whole are berries, bananas, sweet potato slices, peas, watermelon, pancakes, grilled cheese, and avocado. You are awesome at feeding yourself and doing so has really strengthened your fine motor skills. You have the pinching technique down and rarely miss your mouth these days.
So we got you this cute baby pool this month. You were testing it out, and it was a hit! However, you do prefer it outside or are always up for the big pool.
Oh, and you stayed with dad solo for an entire weekend while mom got together with some friends from college. I left him a pretty detailed note about our routine and together yall had a great weekend. Dad, loved taking care of you in soaking in some one on one time, and I came home rejuvenated!
A few other stats….you are weighing in at about 18lbs and are still pretty long (I need to measure you). You sleep from about 7:30 – 7 at night and are taking two naps around 9 & 1 each day. Sometimes the second nap doesn’t last very long and on those days we squeeze in a third nap. You are nursing four times a day and eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We are so blessed that God choose us to be your mom and dad. We love learning from you and watching you soak in the world. You make our world go round Chickadee!
